Botox Cosmetic
Botox Cosmetic® is an effective treatment for dynamic wrinkles, or those caused by certain muscles responsible for facial expressions. Botox is commonly used to treat forehead creases, crow’s feet and frown lines. During the procedure, Botox is injected directly into the muscle where it temporarily paralyzes the muscle, thus softening and sometimes eliminating lines and reducing future skin creasing. Properly performed, facial expression will not be altered.
During the procedure, the Botox is injected directly into the specific muscle. Some minor swelling or redness may occur at the injection site but these side effect typically fade quickly. Recovery is minimal and most patients are able to immediately return to work and other normal activities. Effects can be seen within five to seven days of treatment with the maximum effect occurring after about two weeks and lasting for four to six months on average.
Additionally, both Dr. Duboys and Dr. Sirota use Botox Cosmetic® as a modality of facial sculpting rather than just as a paralyzing agent.
