BOTOX has enjoyed growing popularity over the last few years as an effective treatment for crow's feet and frown lines, forehead creases and just about anywhere there is an unwanted "wrinkle. " Injected through the skin into the underlying muscle, Botox works by paralyzing the muscles responsible for causing the wrinkles. Since the muscle can't continue to function, lines soften and in some instances are eliminated. Botox treats dynamic wrinkles such as those of the forehead, crows-feet and glabella (above the nose).
BOTOX is not used to treat small superficial wrinkles such as those seen in the jowl areas and nasolabial regions (the line from the nose to the lips). These areas are best treated by fillers, such as Restylane and Perlane.
